Rememberance Day

Thursday, November 3rd, 2011

Every year on November 11, we take the time to remember both armed forces and civilians who have sacrificed for our freedom during times of war.  The date of November 11 was chosen as Remembrance Day, because on that date in 1918, a peace agreement was reached to put an end to World War I. The agreement came into effect at 11 am, and is now honoured on Remembrance Day at that time with a moment of silence.

At Lisgar, we will be holding an assembly featuring presentations from the local cadets, and we will be honouring those who sacrificed with a moment of silence.
