About us:
- GL Armstrong Public School is located in the community of Hamilton.
- The school building is situated on the central mountain on Concession Street and surrounded by residential homes and small businesses.
- The school is so well established that there are children of past GLA graduates attending here.
- The school serves under 500 children with a high majority of students having English as their first language.
- GL Armstrong has celebrated it’s 75th Anniversary and the response to this was overwhelming with great support from both community and past graduates.
- GL Armstrong offers many alternative learning environments including SAGE QUEST, Comprehensive Class, and ESL integration.
- The school also has a Snoezelen Room; which offers our Special Needs students a multi-sensory environment with visual and hands on activities.
- School Improvement Plans include leveled literacy programing for early primary grades, building capacity in mathematic instruction, engaging students through leaderhsip, and devloping a culture of respect as seen in the schools’ SOUL Model .
- GL Armstrong opperates various clubs, including – Band, BeyBlades, Boys Reading Club, Drama, Choir, and Athletics
EQAO Results These assessments capture performance at a specific point of time each year. The results should be considered together with other school information about student performance in reading, writing and mathematics.
