Spread the Net

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012
Just a reminder that Spread the Net activities are continuing tomorrow. Dundas Central is raising money to “Spread the Net”, supporting Rick Mercer’s charitable organization which challenges Canadian students to raise money to buy mosquito nets to save the lives of African children.
All students will be playing NET GAMES (e.g., basketball, volleyball) on February 1st and February 2nd in their regular physical education classes. Parkside High School students will be assisting with coaching teams and refereeing the games as well as helping Kindergarten students play net games in small groups. All students are asked to bring in donations to increase our donation to the charity. The three classes who raise the most money this week from student donations towards “Spread the NET” will be awarded with an extra gym period to play more NET GAMES!!!
The elementary school that raises the most in donations will receive a visit from Rick Mercer this year. Currently, Dundas Central is a reasonable contender, but our fundraising efforts must continue until the challenge closes at the end of February.
