We are a Jk-Gr. 6 school that is partnered with Mt. Hope Public School a few kilometres west of our location. Bell-Stone opened in 1963 and has earned a reputation as being “the small school with a big heart”. Our school is located at the cross roads of Nebo and White Church Roads. We sit on a rural plot of land within the Glanbrook Township. As a township implies, it is surrounded by the larger settlements of Mt. Hope and Binbrook. These hubs amalgamated in 1974 to form Glanbrook. Bell-Stone’s mission is to provide a relevant, responsive education so that each child becomes a life long learner and contributing citizen in a diverse world. As a school we embrace our Board’s strategic directions; achievement, engagement and equity matters. We believe all students can learn and achieve given the appropriate supports. We also recognize improving student achievement requires a collective effort of the entire school, staff, students as well as the active engagement of parents guardians and the community. We are excited about our school, the staff, students and School Council leaders. Our website provides familes with ongoing and meaningful information related to teaching and learning at Bell-Stone and celebrates the accomplishments of our staff, students, parents and community.
This year Bell-Stone School celebrates its 50th Anniversary. We invite you to visit the link located to the left as we update it over the next few months with information regarding our upcoming activities/special events. If you would like to join the planning committee or have Bell-Stone memorabilia that you would be willing to lend to the school for display please contact us at 905-679-6168 or email the school at bellston@hwdsb.on.ca. We look forward to seeing you at our Anniversary celebrations on November 2, 2013.
