All students in grade 10 (and anyone unsuccessful last year) will be writing in the morning starting at 8:25 a.m.  It is important to be on time and in attendance.  Successful completion of the OSSLT is a graduation requirement.

All students in grade 9 will write a practice test during period 1, then attend their regular period 2 class.

Senior students will have a space for quiet study and the opportunity to seek assistance during the morning.

During the afternoon, all students will attend their period 3 and 4 classes, starting at 12:30 p.m.

Passing the OSSLT is a graduation requirement and while Ancaster High is often able to offer the Grade 12 Literacy Course for unsuccessful students, we want students to be successful on the OSSLT so that they not only meet the Ministry requirement but also have additional optional course selection opportunities.

The attachments below will provide you and your child with valuable information, strategies and resources for preparing for the OSSLT.

Additionally, we are looking to offer a free After School Literacy Preparation program here at Ancaster High. It will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4pm. If you are interested in enrolling or would like additional information, please email Dan Sheeler at daniel.sheeler@hwdsb.on.ca
